Fielding Financial Planning are committed to work with you in the manner you choose and can afford.
After the initial consultation, see details in our “How We Work” section, we will agree with you whether you pay us a fee, or we are paid out of the cost of any financial product you effect by way of commission.
We will always tell you about any commission we earn, and it will be taken into account in working out our fee.
Commission is paid to us by a provider, usually an insurance company or an investment provider for the successful placing of business. The commission is included within the providers normal product charges, so there is nothing you need to pay us in addition. The amount of commission is based on a percentage of the premiums payable or sums invested.
Our philosophy is not to charge an hourly rate for our services. Our belief is that clients want to know up front what the charges are. For that reason we would prefer to charge a set fee for each piece of work undertaken however we are happy to work on an hourly rate. The amount we charge will depend on the amount and complexity of the work. Our typical charges for general financial planning are:
Principal/Financial Adviser £175 per hour
Administration £60 per hour
For example, if a Financial Adviser spent 4 hours providing services the fee would be £700 (4 x £175).
If you ask us to arrange a mortgage for you a fee of £500 will be payable on completion of your mortgage. We will also receive commission from the lender.
Whether we take our remuneration by way of commission or fees will be a matter of discussion and agreement, and no charges for fees will be made without prior notification in writing.
